On this episode of AM Radio, Amy talks about exploring Waldorf education and Teresa of Avila’s The Interior Castle and then we have a ranging discussion (some of it in the car) of the new book Church Refugees. Don’t forget about our Gofundme campaign. We need your support now more than ever.

you can’t read the Bible without the Spirit
It is common to make the Bible the pivot point in discussing the work of the Holy Spirit. I think this frames the discussion in a false way given that we are dependent on the Spirit for even understanding Scripture as Scripture. The Spirit isn’t one of the points on the Wesleyan quadrilateral (the four are: Scripture, reason, tradition, and experience). The Spirit speaks to us through each of them. Pitting the Bible against or as a limit to the Spirit works under the false premise that we can read the Bible on our own and have any inkling of the revelation of God apart from the gifting and empowering of the Spirit.
